Now, I'm on the lookout for a replacement for this TV. While browsing in online appliance stores, I stumbled upon the Smart TV. My jaw dropped! The smart TV levels up multimedia entertainment several notches higher. It's actually an interactive home theater system. If you connect it to your broadband connection, it has apps capable of browsing stuff you want online.
The most popular Smart TV apps are YouTube, Netflix, CinemaNow, Skype, Hulu Plus, Flickr, Picasa, even Facebook and Twitter - all on your TV! Wow! I was just amazed that this usual viewing appliance can be more useful than passive entertainment. I'm not really a TV watcher, but my kids love watching the Discovery channel and National Geographic on a big screen for their auxiliary learning for homeschooling.
Yes, I know it comes with a hefty price tag. I'll have to save up for this and hopefully soon, I can save enough cash to buy a Smart TV. I don't use credit cards, so I need to work a bit more and buy this as a reward to my family and my self for my hard work.
A smart TV can definitely do more than mere passive entertainment through video and audio. It could provide social connection and other functions through downloadable apps online.
